Our Story
Archi Playground, began during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Started with “Creative Kids” a small classroom for 2-6 children that provides studio space, art materials, and activities for them to play and learn. That inspired the “Playground Concept” which was later developed into an Architecture Classroom for Children and Youth, as well as enlisting community volunteers to assist in development of a lifelong learning program.
A Creative Community Based Learning pedagogy that encourages everyone in community to learn and teach from each other. The ultimate goal is to develop “Self-Learning” abilities by incorporating architecture, environment, people, and culture as a means of learning in order to achieve a creative community in which everyone can work together to build a creative, sustainable environment.
Archi Playground was founded by Kittiya Choowanthanapakorn, the founder of Kittiya Architects. She holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania’s Stuart Weitzman School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from Thailand’s Silpakorn University. With a strong interest in Sustainable Architecture and Environmental Design and Lifelong Learning, she founded the Archi Playground project, the Inclusive Sustainable Learning Pedagogy, in order to create an appropriate environment that encourages everyone to participate on an equal footing in the design of collaborative creative communities.
